Obituary of Dennis Van Baulen

Please share a memory of Dennis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Dennis Van Baulen, devoted and beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend passed away on August 26, 2017, at the age of 75. Dennis never compromised his morals, values and above all his love of family. Dennis always made sure his family was together, spoiled and loved beyond compare. Dennis and Lorraine married on June 21, 1964, they began their family of three children, Michele, Craig and Scott. Dennis and Lorraine dedicated every minute of every day to their children always putting their needs before their own. Dennis was very proud of each of his children and their many accomplishments. These successes were in many ways attained thanks to his love, support and guidance. The family bond Dennis and Lorraine instilled in their children, is and will always remain untouchable and will continue to grow stronger with their grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Nothing brought Dennis more joy than being with Lorraine and their grandchildren, Richard, Casey, Erica, Nicholas, Craig Tyler, Trevor and Austin. Dennis was able to fulfill his promise to take his 10 month old grandchild, Austin fishing. These lucky grandchildren could never have a better guardian angel then their grandpa. Dennis was very fortunate to have many lifelong friends and neighbors who he considered family. He would give anyone the shirt off his back and never asked for anything in return.

On any given day, Dennis could be seen around town in his burgundy pick up truck, ready to help family and friends at a moment's notice, picking up Lorraine from work or spending time with his friends at the golf course reminiscing. The memories and legacy Dennis has left us with are a testament to the man he strived and succeeded to be his entire life. No amount of time with Dennis would ever have been enough with his family and friends. Dennis is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 53 years, Lorraine (Belle) Van Baulen; his children, Michele Pentony and her husband Richard of Bayonne, Craig and his wife Gina of Brick and Scott and his wife Irene of Hawthorne; as well as his grandchildren Richard Pentony and his wife Rebecca, Casey Pentony Harper and her husband Kenneth, Erica Pentony and Nicholas Pentony, Craig Tyler Van Baulen, Trevor Van Baulen and Austin Van Baulen and his great grandchildren Braden, Camden and Kaelyn Pentony.
