Tartaglia, Italo "Al" age 87 of Haledon at rest in Wayne on February 19, 2017. Beloved husband of the late and former Josephine Lo Bue (2016). Loving father of Joanne Williams of Haledon, Michael C. Tartaglia and his wife Gina of Pine Brook and Anthony Tartaglia and his wife Sharon of Sparta. Dear brother of Jeanette Patti of Elmwood Park, Gloria Sparado of Elmwood Park, Phyllis Chiapelli of Waldwick and Frank Tartaglia of Maryland. Loving grandfather of Anthony, Nicholas, John, Christopher, Anna and Mia. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Born in Paterson, he lived in Haledon for most of his life. He was Owner/Proprietor for Town and Country Fuel Oil, Haledon for many years before retiring. After that, he sold hot dogs in Haledon and Belleville. Mr. Tartaglia was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 174, Mountainview, Wayne. He was a lifelong member of the Haledon Democratic Club. He was a model train enthusiast. He enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and time spent with his family and grandchildren. He touched everyone, family and friends with his humor. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Cremation will be private. Relatives and friends may visit Friday from 4:00 – 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Parents Project Muscular Dystrophy, 401 Hackensack Avenue, 9th Floor, Hackensack, N.J. 07601 would be appreciated.
