Obituary of Vincent J Bonadies

Bonadies, Vincent J. age 93 of Paterson at rest in Paramus on January 4, 2017. Born in Jersey City, he lived in Paterson most of his life. He was a Supervisor for the United States Postal Service, Hawthorne, for many years before retiring in 1986. Mr. Bonadies was a parishioner of St. James R.C. Church, Totowa and a former parishioner of Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, Paterson. He belonged to the Our Lady of Pompeii Seniors and the St. Michael's Seniors. Mr. Bonadies was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran serving in the European Theater. He was a founding member of the Riverside Vets. He belonged to the American Legion Bernard Armitage Post # 360 and was a member of the New Jersey VFW and the Post Office War Veterans. He was an avid reader and loved to visit Wildwood by the Sea, NJ. He was an all-around sports fan. Beloved husband of the late Viola A. (nee Rotella) (2008). Loving father of Arleen Walmers & her husband, Paul of Wayne and Maryann Velez & her husband Ventura of Paterson. Dear grandfather of Kimberly Moreno & her husband, Bing of Bloomfield. Caring brother of Ralph Bonadies of Lincoln Park and the late Artie and Albert Bonadies. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd, Totowa, on Monday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. James R.C. Church, Totowa at 9:30 AM. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum, Totowa. Friends may visit Sunday 4-8 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
