Polo, Gilma M. "Gina" (nee Amezquita) age 81 of Paterson at rest in Paterson on July 15, 2015. Beloved wife of Jorge A. Polo of Paterson. Dear mother of Monica D'Angeles and her husband Adimier of Clifton, Gina Polo-Miles and her husband Daniel of Plano, TX, Marla Polo-Zisa and her husband Reno of Ellicott City, MD., Hugo Polo and his wife Carmen of Paterson, Jorge Polo and his wife Lenra of Washington DC and Erick Polo and his long time companion Barbara of Paterson. Dear grandmother of thirteen and great grandmother of seven. Sister of Mariela Chapman of Barranquilla, Colombia, Mery Sarmiento of Cali, Colombia, Armando Amezquita and Pedro Amezquita, both of Union City. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and her beloved pet German Shepherd, Lucerna. Born in Facatativa, Colombia, she came to the U.S.A. in 1970 settling in Paterson. She was the Bookkeeper for and founder of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Paterson, establishing the church in 1990. She enjoyed singing and tending to her rose garden. She was a writer and she enjoyed playing soccer. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 255 21st Avenue, Paterson, on Saturday at 5:00 PM. Cremation was private at the request of the family. Donations in her memory to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 255 21st Avenue, Paterson, N.J. 07503 would be appreciated.
