Obituary of Carmen Melone

Carmen (Carmelo) T. Melone of Union, N.J., 87 passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 23rd, 2014 with his loving and beloved wife by his side. Carmelo (his birth name) was born in Paterson New Jersey on 7/16/27. He might have left Paterson but Paterson was in his heart and soul. He attended St. Bonaventure Grammar and High School. He graduated from Seton Hall University in 1953 completing his Catholic education. Religion was a very important part of his life. He would light up a room with his handsome swagger and great personality. His many passions in life were faith – family – respect and a true feeling for his Italian and Paterson "Stoney Road" beginnings. He was one of the best dancers and much in demand. A good time was always tempered by his respect of himself and others. Other loves were golf – travel – tennis – and playing gin rummy. He met his wife Barbara in 1974 and together they enjoyed a wonderful life. He was predeceased by his parents – Amedeo & Concetta Melone, brother – Harold and brother – in – law Michael Ray. Carmelo is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Barbara (Black) Melone, his sister in law – Maureen Ray and niece, Amanda Ray and nephew Brian Ray. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from the Festa Memorial Funeral Home, 111 Union Blvd., Totowa, on Wednesday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Bonaventure R.C.
